Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Essential Functions:

Use knowledge of, and experience with, development/design and integration of powertrain electrical software and hardware components (including electronic control units, sensors, actuators); automotive production; automotive new product launch methods; supplier management; drivability evaluation and parameter adaption; electronic diagnostic and logger tools (including VECTOR-tools, ETAS-INCA, and BluePirat data logger); automotive communication networks (including CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet); electrical car technology including functions and structured analysis of electrical issues to support the series carlines and ramp up production of upcoming carlines while ensuring electric/electronic readiness of powertrain components (Software/Hardware) for battery electric- and internal combustion engine vehicles in relation to project milestones, change management and problem analysis. Represent the Development and Quality Engineering interests for all aspects of product. Consult with internal departments and component suppliers regarding development related topics. Support change management including documentation maintenance, software and hardware changes, checking commissioning status and sampling, performing root cause analysis of any issues, testing and evaluating changes, and consulting with R&D departments. Communicate with the relevant development departments and other foreign plants. Perform root cause analysis on functional topics reported from different sensors in the plant and externally. Support car preparation for emissions testing, test drives, press and marketing events, etc. Examine, measure, inspect, and test defective parts for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications using precision measuring and testing/diagnosis instruments, devices, and equipment. Analyze specific development issues and establish long- and short-term countermeasures including cross-functional alignment with all involved parties. Lead cross functional problem-solving activities. Assist production in implementing adopted countermeasures (long- and short-term) to ensure production capability during Production Trial phase. Support the Quality Operations departments, Service and Parts, and dealerships and customers by investigating malfunctions and solving problems. Support action/campaign management with information and completion of software and hardware campaigns. Initiate product planning changes and approve product deviation requests to support product quality. Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards, and laws.  Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.

 

Education

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering and Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related and five (5) years of employment experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties. New hires subject to drug test and background check. 10% international and domestic travel may be required.
