Sitka Fine Arts Camp, a leader in arts education, provides interdisciplinary summer programs for kids and adults from around the US and world. Our programs include visual art, music, theater, dance, writing, Alaska Native Arts, and have been recognized by both the White House and the National Endowment for the Arts for excellence and innovation in arts education and community building. Title:Development & Community Outreach Staff
Duration of Position: June 2 - August 4
Camp operates on a 7-day per week schedule. Staff will be expected to frequently work on nights and weekends. Time off will be scheduled around the demands of the program.
Position Duties:
- Work on the creation of SFAC's Annual Report in collaboration with full-time staff
- Coordinate marketing effort for summer events
- Assist Events Manager with planning and execution of the Jazz on the Waterfront fundraising gala
- Create materials and provide staffing for parent-specific events
- Assist staff in fundraising efforts
- Assist with classroom setup ahead of each camp session
- Provide staffing for the front desk of the SFAC office to help students, faculty, and other campus guests
- Provide House Management and ushering for evening Arts Shares and Final Performances
- Assist with general tasks to help camp run smoothly:
- Assist with room turnover
- Assist staff with campus events
- Help with other projects and events as needed
Must have excellent customer service skills and a valid driver's license and be willing to learn to drive a 15 passenger van.
Sitka Fine Arts Camp (SFAC) staff help to make the summer run smoothly for students, faculty, staff, community members, volunteers, and visitors to the Sitka Fine Arts Camp.
SFAC staff are expected to be helpful, responsible, and flexible members of our team willing to work in any capacity with an enthusiastic and energetic attitude. SFAC staff are expected to provide excellent customer service to all members of the campus community and to each other.
Compensation:
- $4,500 stipend
- Room and board on campus
- Access to the Hames Center (on campus fitness facility)
Travel: Staff are responsible for their own travel.
