Area Function
The Episcopal Church Office of Development works to support church ministries. The Office of Development raises financial resources to carry out God’s mission through our ministries. We engage with individual Episcopalians, parishes, and dioceses to connect them to work of the larger church.

Job Summary
The Development Associate will play an integral part in the overall success of the Development department and assist The Episcopal Church & DFMS in meeting our annual fundraising goals. They will work closely with the Development team to implement fundraising strategies, engage donors, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization. They will gain a comprehensive insight into development work, and due to the nature of our collaborative working style, they will have the opportunity for professional growth. The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated team player.

Reporting Relationships
The Development Associate reports to the Associate Director.


Duties & Essential Job Functions

Principal Responsibilities

Donor cultivation, engagement and stewardship (phone calls and correspondence).

Provide administrative support to the team, including scheduling meetings, preparing fundraising materials, reports, and handling correspondence.

Utilize donor databases (Raiser's Edge) to manage fundraising-related donor information, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data entry.

Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, guest coordination, and follow-up activities.

Other Functions And Responsibilities
Perform other duties for the Development Associate as assigned

Qualifications

Required
  • Excellent communication skills and phone presence
  • The role requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Prior work experience with a donor database (preferably Raiser’s Edge and/or Salesforce)
  • Team player, highly motivated, flexible, and able to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Suite

Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a development office (fundraising, campaign support, or donor relations)
  • Passion for fundraising and an interest in advancing the organization’s mission.
