POSITION TITLE:Development Associate (DA)
REPORTS TO: Director of Development (DD)
POSITION SUMMARY: The DA works within a regional fundraising team to fuel the mission of Kids In Need Foundation with financial and in‐kind gifts, while ensuring the highest levels of service, experience and execution of deliverables for donors, sponsors and other stakeholders. This is a full‐time hybrid position based in the Roseville, MN headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Work closely with the DD to champion and drive the overall fundraising growth goals within the assigned regional territory (Territory).
● The DA’s personal portfolio responsibility is focused on mid‐level donors, generally defined as those who give annually from $1,000 to $10,000 financially and/or $10,000 to $100,000 in gift‐in‐kind donations. This portfolio range may be fluid, as the business needs and/or volume adjust, and also may include or exclude specific donors, as determined by the DD.
● Cultivate strong relationships with current and former donors within the mid‐level portfolio, as well as collaborate with the DD with donor relationships and programs within the broader Territory portfolio, as/when needed.
● Acquire new donations and donors through management of the inbound channel for the Territory, in addition to other new Territory donor pursuits as identified and/or become available.
● Enthusiastically exhibit a donor‐centric / team‐centric approach to engagement of donors up and down within the Territory portfolios, in close collaboration with the DD.
● Deliver regular communication, reporting and recognition strategies for mid‐level donors and others as assigned, collaborating with the DD, development team members and other stakeholders for ideas and best practices.
● Create and provide donor experiences, such as but not limited to, supply drives, builds, customized GIK asks, and affinity group collaborations.
● Cultivate and steward relationships and processes for annual giving to retain and upgrade donor giving.
● Manage to and monitor all KPIs in order to achieve personal development goals.
● Contribute to the achievement of overall Territory goals, collaborating and communicating on project schedules, meeting deadlines and objectives.
● Manage portfolio activity and reporting within Salesforce.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field preferred OR; minimum 3+ years of experience in Program Management, Donor Development, Sales, Marketing, or related field
● Strong project management skills, and experience creating work plans, setting and meeting clear expectations and deadlines
● Highly self‐motivated and possess a competitive attitude
● Ability to work collaboratively on cross‐functional teams with integrity and professionalism and foster close relationships with internal and external teams to build programs and execute campaigns
● Highly skilled in building relationships and collaborative partnerships
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications
● Experience using CRM tools, Salesforce preferred
● Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States PHYSICAL DEMANDS
● Required to sit for long periods of time
● Extensive use of computer, keyboard and mouse
● Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
● Occasional travel may be required, including some nights and weekends for events
