Summary

As the Developer Advocate of Eagle Eye Networks’ Developer Program you will become the lead voice and internal champion for our community of external developers who leverage our open, public API to build 3rd party applications. You are a developer/technologist first and foremost, and excited about teaching, engaging and helping make our developers (and our company) successful. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new initiative within the organization to scale our community and the number of applications utilizing our APIs. The group is led by a SaaS veteran who previously scaled an IoT dev community to one of the largest of its kind. There will be tons of executive level visibility as this is a key initiative for the organization in 2024 and beyond. 

Responsibilities

• Act as “customer zero” for our Video API Platform
• Be the first to review and code against new API updates/releases to ensure you are the expert and know our product offerings end-to-end
• Create content, code samples, sample use cases and presentations to drive our API and platform adoption
• You will be an advocate for the Developer inside Eagle Eye Networks by engaging our external communities and sharing that insight with our product teams, with an end goal of constantly improving the developer experience
• Attend (and sometimes speak) at conferences, user meetups, and hackathons to connect with developers and understand how we can best serve them and make them successful
• Establish, participate, manage and ultimately grow our public developer forum

Experience

Must Have:

• Developer and/or Software Engineering Advocacy, Relations or related experience
• Experience developing content for blogs, presentations, demos, talks, and tutorials for technical audiences
• Some production coding experience (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.) Experience with HTTP REST APIs and best practices required
• Software Design / Architecture experience, must be able to help third-party developers integrate with their existing architecture and help design new integrations
• Ability to set up your own environment in a public cloud. You should be able to design, deploy, and manage the infrastructure needed for your examples and demos.

Nice to Have:

• Examples of your work in public, code on Github, blog articles, videos on YouTube.  We want to see how you present yourself and your ability to share technical information
• Engaged in technical communities such as GitHub, Medium, DZone, Stack Overflow, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc.
• Image and video editing skills for instructional videos and diagrams in blog/tutorial content
• Experience with modern software development, containers, docker, kubernetes, CI/CD
