This role is required to be onsite 5 days/week for support. There may be occasional remote work availability. 

Red Wing Shoes is seeking a Desktop Engineer to support our information technology department.

This role is responsible for engineering the organization's desktop infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software solutions; Installing new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches; Analyzing and resolving problems associated with desktop hardware/software, applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems.

This role is also responsible for designing, installing and troubleshooting desktop systems to meet the functional objectives of the business which includes the implementation and maintenance of desktop management software; Researching, analyzing and implementing software or hardware changes to fix deficiencies; Overseeing work provided by vendors on the most complex system installations or upgrades; Collaborating with Infrastructure Systems Engineer and Sr. Network Engineer to build solutions that meet the needs of the business initiatives today and in the future. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field of study, with a minimum of 6 years of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualifications are a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Qualified candidates should have comprehensive knowledge and understanding in Microsoft technologies; Windows Core Services (AD, DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc); PowerShell and other scripting technologies; Standard security policies and procedures; Experience with building and deploying desktop applications via SCCM or Intune; Experience working in systems engineering, analysis and monitoring; Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project preferred; General knowledge of Internet protocols and service; Ability to work independently and as part of a team through effective communication and collaboration skills.
