POSITION SUMMARY
The Desktop and Network Support Technician assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes installation and testing of computer systems, software, and peripherals. This position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers, switches, firewalls, associated equipment and future technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for installation of hardware systems, software systems, and software packages.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot employee hardware and software questions and concerns on a daily basis.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot systems including hardware, software, and Networks.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades when required.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with network administration and hardware configuration issues, Active Directory setup and configuration (users, group policies, printers, security).
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and parts, as well as documentation of vendor activities.
  • Learn and maintain company line-of-business applications.
  • Orient users by providing training and support for applications, services, and processes.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of documentation, processes, and procedures.
  • Additional projects as assigned management.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

Required:
  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree, Microsoft Certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer and software skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Windows Desktop OS, Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred:
  • 2+ years of technical support experience.
  • Experience with Networking technologies (VLAN’s, Layer 3 Routing, Firewalls, Switches).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to remain stationary and work at a computer and on other various technology. The employee is occasionally required to move about the facility. Occasional heavy lifting of 50+ pounds may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties and functions of this position, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
