The Sales Consultant position is a critical role which serves our client base of custom home builders, architects, interior designers, and affluent homeowners throughout north Texas. Our showroom Sales Consultants specify uber luxury door hardware, lighting, and plumbing fixtures to the most discriminating client/professionals in FTW, which have high expectations of what they will experience when doing business with us. For the designer/custom homebuilder client, our showroom reflects their brand as a trusted partner for making proper technology, quality, and design selections for luxury residences. For the homeowner, designing a home is a special event and they want the product specification experience to be wonderful. We offer our services to some of the most exceptional residential properties in North Texas.
Our Sales teammates offer a "consultative service" to professional clients, leveraging product/project knowledge and experience, with the goal of establishing trust which lasts for years. This is not a "pushy sales job". Our average tenure in these Sales Consultation positions is over 20 years. Showroom work hours are 8:30am –5:30 pm, M-F, included is an hour lunch break. Saturday potentially however by appointment only.
Tasks and Duties:
- Consult with the designers, architects, custom builders, and homeowners in the showroom.
- Review architectural plans and ensure proper form, fit and function of the products selected.
- Offer the customer choices of products to satisfy their vision and meet their budget expectations.
- Enter sales orders into the company’s software and build digital proposals to the customer's expectation.
- Job site visits as needed to assist in the specification process and to ensure quantities are correct.
- Inspect the product prior to delivery to the job.
- Be the project manager for the services and products we supply to the jobsite. Organization and communication skills are key as you will be working as a team with the designer and builder to complete the project on time.
- Develop and manage trusted, long-term relationships with builders, designers, architects, and homeowners.
Qualities of the Candidate:

- Consultative selling style with an interest in developing your reputation along with long-term repeat business.
- Ability to sell and communicate with affluent customers.
- Dressed appropriately with a professional appearance.
- Be comfortable communicating the value of many different product lines. Multitasking
- Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Experience with door hardware and plumbing fixtures is desirable but not mandatory.
- The ability to read architectural plans is a plus but not necessary.
- Previous sales experience with high-end luxury home goods is a plus.
Although this position will have a desk and resources in our Dallas showroom, both the Dallas and FTW showrooms can be utilized as a tool to facilitate a sale. This position is both inside and outside sales. You will be expected to visit custom home sites with your client as well as attend industry networking events and parties on occasion.
We begin Sales Consultants with a straight salary, exempt from overtime, until they are sufficiently trained. Once sales become consistent monthly, we transition their compensation to a lower hourly base, non-exempt from overtime, plus unlimited commission. The transition to commission could take anywhere between 6 months to two years.
