Location: This position is based in our manufacturing box plant in Madera, CA near Fresno, CA. You will support designers located in our box facilities including Madera, Modesto, San Leandro, La Mirada, CA and Olympia, WA. Customers are located from the Northeast into the southwestern part of the US and our design headquarters is in Norcross, GA. Up to 40% travel is anticipated to collaborate with your team, customers, and other GP capabilities. Relocation assistance is offered for this position.
What You Will Do
- Proactively engage with Sales, Operations, and Customers to identify meaningful opportunities and determine the best structural design/development approach
- Drives collaboration within the CoE, cross functionally, and across the broader Design Community & challenge the status quo and create superior corrugate products for GP and our customers
- Recognizes trends and/or technology gaps in the corrugated packaging industry, then engages with other CoE's to develop coordinated solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Through an entrepreneurial approach, proactively leveraging advantaged GP capabilities to drive customer value
- Manage Regional Design teams project loads to achieve optimal results across the region
- Manage, coaches and develop Regional Designers; responsible for regular feedback including an annual 360 performance review, and annual compensation reviews
- Independently structures and leads development programs
- Demonstrate expertise in corrugated packaging solutions and communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide optimal service
- Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite 365 (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Teams, Artios CAD, Tops and other software tools
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5 or more years of corrugated structural design experience
- Flexible to travel up to 40% of time
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, design, or related field
- Experience managing designers and/or previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with corrugated designed for produce/ agricultural products
- Fluency in Spanish (Read, Write, Speak)
For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 - $170,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
