Overview:
Are you passionate about research, innovation, and user engagement in Interior Design and Architecture? Bring your expertise and experiences to HGA!
Ideally, a candidate for this role is someone passionate about applying Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design in the process of creating new spaces and behaviors. In this role, you can expect to work closely with DIG researchers and innovators, architects, designers, and planners to integrate a Human-Centered Design lens into project work and firm-wide research. This role will collaborate, partner, and serve as a national resource for all market sectors within the firm including healthcare, public corporate, arts, community, higher education, and science & technology.
As an award winning architectural, engineering, and planning firm we are seeking a Design Innovation Specialist to join our research and innovation team: Design Insight Group (DIG.) DIG is an interdisciplinary team that brings together experts in evidence-based design, practice-based research, lean process improvement, design anthropology, design thinking, data analytics, and data visualization. DIG's mission is to generate and integrate original insights into HGA's practice and the larger design industry to leave a lasting, positive impact on people, organizations, and communities.
In this role you will:
  • Design and facilitate design thinking and co-creation workshops for projects
  • Exhibit visual, verbal, and written storytelling to effectively communicate ideas and inspire the target audience
  • Plan and conduct user research and user engagement through surveys, persona creation, and journey mapping
  • Generate fresh insights for innovation based on user research and user engagement inspired by social and behavioral sciences

You will need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related field required
  • 5+ years of architecture, interior design and/or design experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industries
  • Proficiency in visual, verbal, and written communication
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • 3D modeling software preferred

Salary Information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $65,100 to $91,100.
