Job Description
- Compliance of pressure vessel design and construction with the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII and the NBIC (National Board Inspection Code). This compliance is monitored by an Authorized Inspector during twice-monthly hydrotest inspections and formally reviewed annually and triennially.
- Creation of ASME calculations, drawings and bills of material.
- Purchase of material for fabrication of ASME pressure vessels. This involves daily interaction with vendors via email and phone.
Job Duties:
- Validate pressure vessel design and material construction during the quoting process.
- Purchase material and manage purchases until delivery.
- Create and validate calculations with ASME and customer requirements.
- Create fabrication documents.
- Field in-process fabrication questions and issues.
- Help design jigs and fixtures to aid in fabrication and quality control.
- U, UM and R stamp audit participation
The ideal candidate enjoys working on a computer in an office environment. Occasionally, there is a need to remedy an issue on the shop floor, however, an estimated 95 percent of the time is spent at a desk.
Job Requirements:
- Professional Engineer license or BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 4 or more years of experience in pressure vessel design
- Person in Responsible Charge for Design Activities (PRC) (ASME designation)
- Certified Individual (CI) (ASME certification to obtain and maintain)
- Drawing software (TurboCAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc)
- ASME Calculation software (CEI DesignCalcs)
- ERP software (Bizowie)
- General computer literacy
-ASME Section VIII, Division 1

-National Board Inspection Code (NBIC)
-General knowledge of pressure vessel design and construction is a plus
-General knowledge of steel and steel fabrication is a plus
