Job Description
RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking entry-level to experienced candidates to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidates will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility located near Green Bay, WI.

Design Engineer
Design Engineer will lead assigned design efforts for new and existing products. You will Interact with customers to assure all product requirements are understood and prepare concepts and product costing to support the sales and quoting process.
Job Description
- Provide accurate and timely drawings of assigned components and gear box designs according to established company and industry standards.
- Manage design and detail activities so that the project is completed within the specified amount of time, with the minimum amount of new drawings, parts and geometries created.
- Actively participate in, and lead, drawing and design reviews with engineering, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, sales, and the shop.
- Perform engineering calculations to satisfy design, customer and engineering requirements. Examples of these types of calculations are gear design, bearing life, key and keyway sizing, minimum shaft diameter sizing, moments of inertia, shrink fit sizing, bolt torques, mass elastic calculations. etc.
- Review customer and industry specifications to identify the equipment scope of supply and to provide comments & exceptions where appropriate.
- Collaborate with external customers and sales, engineering and manufacturing teams to understand customer and system requirements.
- Set-up vibration measurement routes on appropriate software.
- Create proposals and provide assistance to Sales with proposal preparation.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or General)
- Proficiency in engineering principles including but not limited to structural mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD - Creo Preferred
- Knowledge of typical engineering standards in drawing practice, dimensioning and tolerancing, drawing symbols, welding practice, etc.
- Prior experience with drivetrain systems
Pay Range: $65,000-$100,000 – Commensurate with experience
