What will you do?
As an ACTT Electrical Engineer, you will provide engineering support on product launches and field issues. You will be responsible for maintaining the Bills of Materials in the electrical systems. You will design and release new harnesses to provide a truck that meets the customers' specific requirements and is safe to operate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Provide schematic and harness designs for electrical wiring systems and components in a variety of applications to meet customer requirements and project specifications. Apply fundamental engineering principles to electrical components to insure performance.
  • Specify, locate and validate electrical components which meet product design goals while complying with government regulations and supplier installation requirements. Lead off site contract resources in custom work order and product change request solutions
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems installed on vehicles in factor and supporting after sales service managers.
  • Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements. Provide design solutions for customer work orders. Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing.
  • Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes. Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design vehicles that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Customer visits to assist service personal and review vehicle applications
  • Previous working experience with Electric vehicles and systems

What does it take to be a part of our team?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (EET)
- 3-5 years' experience in truck, agriculture or industrial vehicles with complex wired systems, knowledge of vehicle circuitry
- Mechatronics experience is a plus
- Self-directed
- Strong analytical and time management skills, able to multitask and manage shifting priorities
- Quick learner who requires minimal supervision and possesses good problem solving skills
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
BSEE or BSET with one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Automotive and/or Heavy Truck experience optimal.
Electric vehicle, high voltage systems diagnostics experience preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
A thorough working knowledge of:
  • CAD based engineering design system
  • MS Office
  • Mentor Graphics, VESYS, Pro/ diagram, or similar harness creation software
  • Unigraphics
  • Team Center PDM system
  • Electric Vehicle Propulsion Systems

Potential of 50% travel to customer sites for trouble shooting and service support assistance. Especially during early launch phases
