Location Note: Remote from Las Vegas area with hybrid support to Oceus operations at Nellis AFB and surrounding area
Travel: Up to 25% depending on corporate/client engagement requirements

Position Description:

We are looking for a Project Manager (Technical), Deputy to join our team. The Project Manager (PM), Deputy is responsible for the performance of relatively small technical projects or a definable portion of a larger technical program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines. The PM is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. The PM manages all facets of the program including budget, schedule, procurement management, resource management, scope, and contract management. They are responsible for the preparation of and accountability for all contract deliverables. The PM is responsible for assisting in the technical leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary staff. They are also responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned projects and for supporting new business development by leading relatively small proposals or assisting with major proposals. The PM takes projects from original concept through final implementation.

The PM may assist in the management of a business unit or department or is at an entry level in management of such under the close supervision of the Division or Program Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise all support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities.
  • Manage the technical direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.
  • Interface with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
  • Define project scope and objectives; develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team; recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • Provide management services including general administrative oversight, time accounting. financial tracking, cost projection, inventory management, personnel evaluation, and support.
  • Develop and operate a variety of technical systems related to the specific job function.
  • Specify systems requirements and insure that completed systems meet requirements.
  • Prepare and approve Standard Operating Procedures, Protocols and other technical documentation specific to a project.
  • Manage technical team and deployment of technical solutions and schedule.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors (equipment providers, engineers, installers).
  • Use project management best practices, processes, and tools for all facets of program management.
  • Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership to and review the work of assigned staff.
  • Directly supervise individual contributors in technical positions and/or entry level professionals.
  • Estimate staffing needs, assign work, recommend candidates for employment, make recommendations for termination, conduct performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff.
  • Responsible for the application of company policies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current secret clearance
  • 8-10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; 6-8 years of related experience with a master's degree including:
    • 2+ years in a supervisory capacity
    • Experience leading technical teams in development and integration projects
    • Knowledge of, and work experience with the Government DoD programs in a Business or Project Management role and environment
  • Understanding of communications concepts and protocols including information assurance, network security, cellular technology, engineering design and adaptation, solutions integration, RF design, testing and optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independent thinker
  • Availability to support on-site work at Nellis AFB and surrounding area
  • Availability to travel (anticipated 25%)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional PMP® Certified
  • Professional experience managing complex system of systems products to include developing or integrating, fielding, and supporting technology products.
  • Professional technical writing experience, defined as performing technical writing that resulted in formal publication of technical documents and deliverables to support a commercial or DoD program or product.
