Deputy General Counsel

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive seeks an experienced Deputy General Counsel with excellent judgment to join our client's legal team. As a key member of the legal team, you must excel at prioritizing and managing multiple competing responsibilities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You should enjoy working collaboratively with other members of the legal team and the teams it supports and be able to communicate effectively at all levels across the business. Initially, you will report directly to the U.S. General Counsel. This is a full-time, exempt position located at headquarters in Miami’s Brickell financial district. An optional hybrid work schedule is available, but you must be willing to be in the office at least three days per week (or more if the work requires it).

Key Responsibilities:

• Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, including experience in financial services or wealth management.
• Proven experience managing a team of attorneys and support staff.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-legal audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively to find solutions to complex legal issues.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

• JD from an accredited law school and an active membership in at least one state bar
• 5+ years of related experience, preferably a mix of experience at a top law firm and in-house
• Experience at a financial services firm is a plus
