We are seeking aDeputy Environmental Compliance Manager (NDEC Compliance Manager)to join our Redmond, WA team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced environmental scientist or EIT to join our multi-disciplinary team to support our fish passage program.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project teams to develop project documentations, lead task force meetings, oversee environmental staff in site assessment, and generally ensure projects are meeting environmental commitments.
  • Additionally, the candidate should possess exceptional technical writing skills, enabling clear communication between stakeholders, and be able.
  • This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on fish passage projects in the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil or environmental engineering roles, including internships or co-op experiences during academic studies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) for civil engineering design and drafting tasks.
  • Experience with hydrological and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools for stormwater management and flood analysis. Familiarity with environmental assessment tools and regulations, including experience with environmental impact assessments and compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Certifications: EIT certification or eligibility to obtain EIT certification within 6 months of hire.
    Additional certifications such as LEED AP (for sustainable design projects), Engineer Intern (EI) in Environmental Engineering, or relevant state-specific certifications are desirable.

Technical Requirements:
  • Certification: EIT certification or eligibility to obtain EIT certification within 6 months of hire. Additional certifications related to environmental or civil engineering practices are a plus.
  • Technical Writing Skills: Proficiency in technical writing to prepare reports, proposals, and documentation related to environmental and civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
  • Experience Coordinating with Various Stakeholders: Demonstrated experience in coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, community groups, and internal project teams. Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate communication to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Drive to Work in Multi-disciplinary Teams: Strong desire and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams comprising engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals.
    Willingness to contribute ideas, share expertise, and support team members to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality results.
  • Experience with Stormwater Calculations and Treatment System Sizing: Proficiency in conducting stormwater calculations, including runoff modeling, flow analysis, and hydraulic design.
  • Experience in sizing and designing stormwater treatment systems such as detention basins, bioretention facilities, and infiltration systems to meet regulatory requirements and environmental goals.

Other miscellaneous qualities:
  • Ability to travel occasionally up to one week at a time to the Olympic Peninsula.
  • Able to work in inclement weather and difficult terrain.

Compensation:
$87,360 - $99,840 Annual Salary
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
