This key member of our Executive Leadership Team will have oversight of the following departments and offices: Development Services, Economic Development, Library, Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Planning, Public Works, Sustainability, Transit Subsidy and Transportation.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
As the DCXO of Community Development, you will be accountable for a combined budget of around $175,000,000.00. You will be tasked to stay abreast of issues of importance to the community and provide insights and recommendations to the County Executive and the Board of County Supervisors in the assigned department functional areas.
We seek a dedicated professional with a track record of building relationships with the business community and experience in Community Development services, economic development, library systems, parks, recreation, tourism, planning, public works, sustainability and/or transportation. Experience advancing plans to address future space needs and with selecting capital improvement projects that achieve broad community outcomes (i.e. small area plan investments, redevelopment, transit oriented development, multi-modal connectivity, etc.).
PREFERENCES
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Public or Business Administration, Planning, Sustainability, Political Science or related a field; supplemented by course work in budgeting, business law, financial management, and/or management science; eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional level experience in the public sector in management analysis activities, land use, planning, or Community Development, and 3 years of managerial experience in local government administration at the equivalent of an Department Director or above.
SALARY RANGE: $137,901.00 - $229,835.00, depending on qualifications.
