Job Description
Directly reports to the In-house Legal Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer(“CCO”), except regarding Administrative Assistant duties, reports directly to the CEO and CCO. Serve as assistant to CCO and as such, HIPPA Officer and Privacy Officer, such as: All administrative and reporting requirements as per MPH adopted compliance program and the regulations regarding HIPAA and Privacy laws. Bring to the CCO's attention all reported and perceived potential compliance, HIPPA and Privacy issues as per their area of authority. It is understood that the Deputy Compliance Officer has no operational authority, this is the domain of the senior administrators identified above to whom issues are reported. All audits, use of consultants, and investigations are to be authorized by either the CEO, In-house Legal Counsel/CCO, or CFO. Maintain any required continued professional educational requirements. Assist in evolving MPH's compliance system to advancing compliance standards. Advise the Director of Human Resources as to adequate compliance education to all personnel. The Director of Human Resources will share authority over this issue with the In-house Legal Counsel/CCO. Administer and disseminate all insurance coverage documentation to Legal Counsel such as Medical Malpractice. D&O. General Liability. Workers’ Comp. PP&E Coverage. Record and retain all contracts under the supervision of, and for review by, In-house Legal Counsel/CCO. Record and keep abreast of contract renewal dates, payment demands and/or performance and compliance issues. and legal counsel's opinions. Assist the CEO and In-house Legal Counsel in their positions as Hospital Liaison to the Police Jury, DHH, LHA, LARHC, Medicare, Medicaid and CSS as to correspondence, dissemination of information and execution of legal documents for signature and approval by management. Assist in the administration of the ad valorem and sales tax programs/managing agencies. Posting of legal notices for all public meetings and taking of minutes for all such meetings. Creation and retention of necessary resolutions as required by the CEO or CCO. Organize and implement administrative duties assigned by the CEO, CFO and In-house Legal Counsel/CCO and any other duties, as needed, to be determined by the Management. Serve as Chief Administrative Assistant to CEO, CFO and In-house Legal Counsel/CCO.
