Deployment Technician

Reporting to the Director of IT Deployment, you will work with a team of three at The Cheesecake Factory corporate support center in Calabasas Hills, CA. As a Deployment Technician, you will play an integral part in configuring hardware and assisting with systems installation deployment processes for a global $3.3 billion public company with over 300 full-service restaurants and more than 47,500 total staff members.

Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:

• Work with Restaurant System Tech to learn TLP image, configuration & deployment process
• Work with Deployment Tech on shipping, communication, tracking and disposal processes
• Image and configure POSdriver, CCdriver, MGR Computer, OST Computer and Kitchen MGR Computer for multiple restaurants
• Responsible for monitoring and tracking of all hardware inventories while building & deploying said computers
• Assist with shipping the above computers to restaurants
• Assist with communications to restaurants regarding process of deployment
• Work with restaurant to physically install computers
• Transfer data from original computer to new computer; once completed remove old computers
• Test systems to validate installation was successful
• Work with restaurant to follow process to properly dispose of old hardware & hard drives
• Have the ability to work independently & manage one’s own time effectively with minimal supervision
• Assist with providing support to the restaurant for hardware installed
• Keep management informed with timely status reports on progress
• Travel to NROs just prior to staff training and restaurant opening to complete:
• On-site follow up with construction and all trades (electrical, data, stainless steel, and mill work) to drive work completion for equipment installation.
• Organization of on-site hardware, installation, staging, and testing of all restaurant equipment & systems
• On-site testing of the primary & secondary network connectivity.
• Collecting information on modifications or additions to areas in the restaurant that will affect equipment installations and validation of installation & equipment hardware/software documentation.

What we require:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience working for The Cheesecake Factory
• Knowledge of basic computer hardware
• Experience with desktop and server operating systems
• Excellent organizational skills, analytical abilities, problem solving and keen attention to detail
• Ability to plan and prioritize to guarantee deployments are implemented as required and within established timeframes
• MS Office Tools experience and troubleshooting skills (e.g. Excel) for updating current forms or creating new one
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-volume, high-pressure environment
• Be proactive, resourceful and efficient
• Be flexible and adverse to changes
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s own time effectively with light supervision
• Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues with processes being followed
• Ability to receive frequent feedback and coaching
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment while inventorying or shipment
• Other duties as assigned
• Ability to begin work as early as 5:00AM on most days of deployment

• 2 years equivalent work experience in IT support is preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
