Departmental Analyst Trainee 9

In a training capacity, this position is responsible for supporting a wide range of Compliance and Data Governance Bureau functions including: compliance with federal regulations, state regulations, and department procedures; application security administration and access control management that ensure the confidential/private/sensitive information is restricted to users with a business reason for access; training, outreach, and communications; business support for Integrated Services Areas (ISA) new and ongoing systems.

One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
Departmental Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

Education

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Administrative Support Experience
Two years of E10- or E11-level experience.
OR
Four years of advanced or supervisory 9-level, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9 experience.
OR
Two years of advanced or supervisory 10-level experience.
OR
One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience.
Business and Administrative Experience
Two years of E9- or E10-level experience.
OR
One year of advanced or supervisory 10-level (or higher) experience.
Human Services Experience
Two years of E9- or 10-level paraprofessional* or nursing experience.
OR
Two years of E10- or E11- or supervisory 10-level experience.
OR
One year of advanced or supervisory 11-level (or higher) experience.
Engineering and Scientific Experience
Two years of E10-, E11-level or supervisory 10-level experience.

*Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college.

Educational Substitution
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
The physical location of this position is Grand Tower Building, 235 S. Grand Ave, 4th Floor. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
