Position Overview

As a Department Supervisor, you will collaborate closely with the Production Manager to ensure efficiency, quality, and a positive work culture in your designated areas. Leading your team with a focus on safety and professionalism, you will take full ownership of operations. Your role entails implementing and upholding manufacturing and quality standards, requiring a deep understanding of departmental processes. Collaboration is paramount as you foster strong working relationships across all levels. Your performance will be measured by the overall success of your area, with accountability for its operations. Serving as the primary point of contact for your department, you will delegate tasks and handle responsibilities assigned by the Production Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Efficiency/Workflow:

· Collaborate with the Production Manager to schedule jobs and allocate personnel.

· Assist in setting process expectations and promptly addressing queries.

· Ensure readiness for smooth operations and investigate any discrepancies in production numbers.

· Maintain adherence to the production schedule and promptly notify of any issues.

· Create and manage schedules, presenting reports on departmental performance.

· Develop proficiency in maintenance, quality, and inventory aspects.

Quality/Systems:

· Support the Quality System and monitor the Gage Calibration Program.

· Ensure proper utilization of control plans and processes.

· Assist in the development and maintenance of control plans and inspection documentation.

· Conduct daily reviews and perform random quality checks.

· Collaborate to address and prevent quality failures.

Professional Culture & Safety:

· Monitor attendance and safety measures, including breaks and machine operations.

· Provide support and resolve conflicts within the team.

· Function as the first point of contact for employee concerns.

· Ensure compliance with safety measures and address concerns promptly.

Leadership & Supervision:

· Demonstrate effective leadership and address performance issues promptly.

· Actively participate in the progressive discipline process.

· Collaborate to establish and enforce expectations for areas and processes.

· Remain vigilant for policy violations and report disciplinary actions promptly.

· Report all disciplinary actions beyond coaching and informal verbal correction to the Production Manager within 24 hours of incident.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Prior shop floor experience preferred, along with familiarity with industry practices.

· Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and proficiency in using inspection tools.

· Exceptional interpersonal and coaching abilities.

· Highly organized and driven by goals.

· Advocates for a culture of safety and demonstrating self-motivation.

· Additional skills in problem-solving and conflict resolution are beneficial.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and stand for 8-10 hours a day.

· Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
