Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Trauma Department Secretary, you will assist the department in the care of patients in a safe and efficient manner. You will assure the highest degree of quality performance and patient care delivered to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients according to their physical needs and limitations. What You Will Do In This Role:
- RIS: ensures orders are valid and entered appropriately, ensures ordering physician is correct, documents pertinent information.
- Greets customers, explains paperwork, wait times, exam, delays, and reporting process.
- Answers telephones promptly, records and delivers messages, transfers calls.
- Interacts and utilizes the PACS system as necessary (i.e. burning CDs, print reports)
- Transports patients as necessary.
- Assist radiologists in contacting physicians.
- Picks up and delivers mail.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Two years of clerical experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills
