The Department of Public Safety Manager exemplifies our commitment to our core values of belonging and well-being for all through their leadership, expertise, and team and guest services.
The Department of Public Safety Manager manages security and safety, coordinates responses, investigates incidents, and enhances safety measures at Mt. Hood Meadows and Cooper Spur. In this role, you will collaborate with various agencies on emergency preparedness. This position collaborates with regional agencies, USFS, Search and Rescue, and law enforcement.

  • At least 19 years of age for company insurance purposes
  • Ability to be insured to operate company vehicles.
  • 2 years' experience in supervisory role
  • Possess or ability to obtain DPSST Private Security Licenses (Unarmed, Manager)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to commit to working weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business.
  • Ability to work and stand outside for extended periods of time in adverse winter weather conditions.
  • Experience in performance evaluation, training programs and records management
  • Experience with incident reporting and documentation
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment background screening.

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in large public assembly facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a Public Safety officer, law enforcement, or fire Marshall role
  • Hazardous Materials Training
  • Fire prevention / Suppression training
  • ODOT Traffic Control Training
  • Parking operations experience
  • Incident command / mass casualty training
  • Working knowledge of emergency response
  • Knowledge of key and lock systems
  • Knowledge of Mt Hood Meadows permit area and surrounding
  • Knowledge of Resort Operations and Mountain Operations
  • Knowledge of radio communications systems
