Job Duties

A Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) Dental Services Intern works in a Dentist Office Practice within a correctional facility and will assist the dentist in providing exodontia, minor, and major oral surgery or hygiene (specified to dental discipline). This role is responsible for supporting the clinical and administrative operations of the institution's dental clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled, and clinically active, in an accredited School of Dentistry, Oral Surgery, School of Hygiene, or Dental Assistant Program (CDA/RDA)
Knowledge of dental terminology and practice (related to field of interest)
Ability to prioritize educational workload, treatment, and schedule patients
Ability to communicate orally and in written form in a professional manner
