General Description:
The Dental Laboratory Technician will fabricate and repair dental prostheses and devices for the dental patients according to dentists’ instructions at Premier Community Healthcare. The Dental Laboratory Technician will prepare wax models from denture impressions, construct metal and non- metal dental replacements and apply finishing touches to dental devices prior to final placement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Restoring or replacing natural teeth by fabricating: full acrylic denture, acrylic partials, and finishing metal partials
- Constructing dental prostheses and devices by replacing wax and acrylic for implantology and maxillo-facial reconstructions.
- Receiving physical dental impression molds or computerized models from dental practices and studying dentists' instructions.
- Encasing replicas of dental impressions with suitable mold materials
- Adjusting, polishing and finishing dental prostheses and devices prior to placement by dentists.
- Managing supply inventories, performing routine equipment maintenance and facilitating repairs.
- Documenting processes, as well as adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.
- Keeping informed of advancements in the field of Dental Laboratory technologies and techniques.
- Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
- Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience.
- Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)
- Covers level two dental lab technician as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of dental prostheses, devices and related technologies.
- Experience in constructing, replacing, repairing and restoring dental devices.
- Proficiency in Dental Laboratory computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, such as iTero and 3D Printer.
- Ability to work with plaster, wax, plastic and other materials.
- Experience using hand tools for carving and shaping and electric drills, presses, lathes, and high-heat furnaces for completing dental pieces.
- Good vision and color sense
- Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and precision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with multiple levels within the organization.
- Excellent grammar, spelling and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a Dental Laboratory technology program
- Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred.
- Strongly preferred 2 years of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician
