Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and educate them on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Follow aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infection
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as preferred
- Proficiency in dental software systems
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and interpretation
- Familiarity with pediatric dental care and techniques for working with children
- Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Excellent communication skills and ability to educate patients on oral health practices
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
