Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant who is bilingual (Spanish/English) to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during procedures and providing exceptional patient care. Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as impressions and sending them to the lab
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs and recording patient information accurately
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Familiarity with aseptic technique to maintain infection control standards
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft or other dental practice management software is preferred
- Ability to take quality dental x-rays using traditional or digital methods
- Comfortable working with pediatric patients
