Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our dental practice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, maintaining suction, and providing support as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring accurate positioning and image quality
- Record patients' medical history, vital signs, and dental charting
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, including restorative work, extractions, and root canals
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care instructions
- Perform dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records in Dentrix software
- Assist with pediatric patients, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for children
- Maintain strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- Proficient in taking accurate dental x-rays and maintaining proper infection control measures
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and dental procedures
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft software is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
