Sunny Skies Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a qualified and experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. Our dental practice is dedicated to providing exceptional dental care to children in a warm and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pediatric dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of young patients.
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Provide oral hygiene instructions to children and parents/guardians.
- Perform coronal polishing under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Assist with front office duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and processing payments.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and provide support and reassurance to anxious or nervous children.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- Current certification in nitrous oxide administration.
- Current certification in coronal polishing.
- Previous experience working in a pediatric dental setting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
