Oxford Pediatric Dentistry is a brand new, state of the art, children's dental clinic. Our focus is to create an enjoyable and gratifying experience for children and cultivate confident, lifelong, dental patients. As a new clinic, we are open three days per week and will grow to five days per week as the business expands.
Position
This is more than a job; this is an opportunity to give kids an amazing dental experience while growing your career with us. As a Dental Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Dentist as their “right hand.” You will support him in any and all tasks related to serving patients which may include preparing equipment, readying patients for procedures as well as aiding the Dentist throughout the entirety of the procedure. Responsibilities
Our Dental Assistants perform a variety of duties within the clinic based on the needs of the practice. Below are a few responsibilities that you may have:
- Cultivating a welcoming, fun, and kid-friendly environment for patients, preparing them for treatment, and obtaining their dental records.
- Polishing teeth to remove stains and soft deposits.
- Teaching appropriate oral hygiene strategies for maintaining oral health.
- Providing chair-side assistance while the dentist examines and treats patients.
- Preparing materials for impressions and restorations, taking dental x-rays, and processing x-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, preparing trays of instruments for procedures, and educating patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
- Performing additional office duties as needed to include scheduling and receiving patients, ordering supplies, and records management.
- Additional duties may be required.
Qualifications
We’re searching for reliable, team-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, we are looking for the following skills, abilities, and experience:
- Experience as a Dental Assistant is desired but not required. An upbeat and positive attitude is a MUST! We are willing to train the right person!
- Self-starter mentality with a relentless focus on best-in-class patient care
- Passion for making a difference in children’s lives
- Hardworking team player
- Must have Dental radiology permit granted by the Mississippi State Board of Dental Examiners or be willing to attend the class to receive the permit.
- Must have CPR certification or be willing to attend the class.
Pay will be competitive based on experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- No weekends

- Oxford, MS 38655: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- X-Ray Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
