Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during procedures and providing exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental practice and contribute to improving the oral health of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing instruments, maintaining suction, and providing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming diagnostic casts
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems is preferred
- Familiarity with Eaglesoft or other dental practice management software
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including pediatric patients
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Basic understanding of medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
- Experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
- Ability to take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
