Summary:
Children’s Museum Houston seeks a Delivery Driver Associate to work with the Parent Stars team with the ongoing implementation of the Parent Stars program. Parent Stars is a parent engagement program that supports parents of school age children as their child’s first teacher. Parent Stars is one of the programs offered through CMH’s community outreach which supports the Museum’s mission to “transform communities through innovative, child-centered learning that improves the trajectories of all children.”
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Requires continuous driving.
- Deliver and pick up activity kits and materials for Parent Stars Program from Children’s Museum Houston to schools within and around the greater Houston area (up to 50 mile radius from CMH)
- Safely operate the delivery cargo van during scheduled hours.
- Coordinate and review logistics with school staff for kit delivery and collection routes for the week.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager of Parent Stars on the availability of materials for delivery and any changes to weekly events.
- Complete ongoing safety training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Education:
Minimum of High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a delivery vehicle
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license (Commercial driver license not required).
- Clean driving record verified by Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure the well-being of oneself and others on the road.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Demonstrate safe driving practices.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to utilize navigation applications (GPS, smartphone, maps).
- Ability to drive in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to help prepare activity materials as needed during downtime.
