Position Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers and/or vendors, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our customers and vendors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Verifies load against shipping papers.
- Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
- Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone contact with office to receive delivery instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck, via forklift.
- Safely drive vehicle to transport materials within specified area
- Verify loads against shipping papers
- Obtain signed receipts for material delivered.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move materials throughout the facility, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, and lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to adapt to seasonal changes, significant temperature variations, and inclement weather conditions.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
- Facilitate work-order paper flow and work standards in accordance with ISO quality standards.
- Keep tools and work area clean and safe.
Experience/Skills:
- Valid Ohio driver?s license.
- Ability to drive straight truck.
- Good driving and maneuverability skills.
- Six months to one-year related experience.
- Must be a strong team player with good communication skills and ability to manage time.
- Must have excellent attendance record.
- Ability to present a positive image to our customers as a company representative.
- CDL not required.
