Deli Associate
Reports to: Deli Department Manager, Store Manager
Duties:
- Arrange, stock, and prepare deli food items meeting high levels of food safety and sanitation.
- Take food orders and serve customers.
- Maintain knowledge of deli products, offer information to customers.
- Answer phone calls in a professional manner.
- Fill supplies by getting materials from storage area. Items include: napkins, cups, utensils etc.
- Prepare, weigh, slice, and stock products.
- Operate equipment in safe manner. Equipment includes: stove, oven, slicer, rotisserie, scale and knives.
- Bread and fry products.
- Prepare food products according to recipe to ensure continuation of quality standards. Products include, salads, sandwiches, coffees, drinks, and wraps.
- Fill hot and cold cases, rotating products in accordance with the "sell by" date.
- Follow established procedures.
- Cleaning and sanitizing work environment.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in food preparation preferred.
- Experience in customer service required.
- Valid food handlers permit.
- Able to work at a fast pace.
- Must be able to operate effectively in stressful situations.
- Able to follow orders.
- Must be a team player, must work well with others.
- Candidate will need to have availability to work weekends in exchange for mid-week days off.
