Primary Responsibilities

  • Coach & Train rig crews and field operators on running NOV equipment.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Keep apprised of new tools and technologies.
  • Interact with NOV Engineering groups and Sales department, as necessary.
  • Advise and instruct customers on reporting functions.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities

  • Coach personnel on the daily operations of NOV controls systems at all locations worldwide.
  • Aid and instruction during drilling operations to clients on the use of NOV control systems and assess the competency of the drilling staff while using NOV Systems.
  • Recommend training to further develop the skills of the drilling personnel based on deficiencies.
  • Collaborate and support all internal and external customers in the use of NOV technologies.
  • Formally document all job associated tasks in a professional manner on daily reports to be presented to and signed by customer for validation.
  • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and suggest improvements.
  • Keep up to date on new technologies and products within NOV.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • At a minimum, High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years offshore experience with 5 years Deepwater Drilling in the role of Driller using Cyberbase/MMC and ancillary NOV control systems. (Amphion, NOVOS, etc.)
  • Experience and understanding of deep-water drilling operations on semi-submersibles or drill ships.
  • All applicable experience must be within the last 7 years. Considerations may be made for applicants who promoted further within rig hierarchy to Tool Pusher/Rig Manager, Superintendent or moved over to Consulting as Company Reps.
  • English proficiency (Multilingual preferred Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Norwegian)
  • Previously held Level 4 IWCF/IADC Supervisory Well Control Certification.

Job Requirements

  • Initiative-taking and goal oriented
  • Available to travel 30%-60% of time. (Domestic and International)
  • Ability to obtain all necessary travel and medical documentation for offshore work.
  • Physically able to work minimum of 12-hour shifts.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of NOV Drilling Operating Controls Systems (MMC, Amphion, NOVOS,)
  • Deep-water drilling operations (domestic & International)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Presentation and Communication Skills
  • Basic Computer Skills
