Physical Requirements:Sitting at workstation for extended periods of time, standing, walking. Occasional lifting of objects up to 25lbs and occasional pushing or pulling objects up to 50lbs during event set up.
Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Occasional evenings, nights, or weekends may be required to accommodate event and tournament schedules.
The Department of Intercollegiate Debate in the College of Communication and Information at the University of Kentucky seeks a motivated Debate Coach. Key responsibilities include preparing students for national circuit competition, tournament travel and administration. This position will work closely with the Debate Team engaging them in drills, practice debates, research and strategy discussion, etc. The Coach will have routine interaction with the student team and is encouraged to create and implement new coaching methods and initiatives for continuous improvement. The Debate Coach will travel with the team to national and regional tournaments and events. Other duties include student supervision, coordinate judges and recruitment of new team members, as well as help with management of multiple high school and college speech and debate tournaments, space acquisition, management of registration process.
Seeking applicants with leadership, significant coaching experience with nationally competitive policy debate programs, excellent time management, organization and strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Education/Experience:Debate coaching/administration or significant experience in a nonprofit or education environment strongly preferred.
