Reports to: High School Principal/Director of New Tech (or designee)
Niles Community Schools is looking for dynamic Dean of Students. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of related experience
Performance Responsibilities (non-prioritized):
- Process discipline referrals from PowerSchool submissions
- Work directly with teachers and behavior specialist/counselors to resolve student disciplinary issues and to assist in conducting written Behavior Plans when needed (general education students)
- Communicate with parents regarding disciplinary matters (telephone, email and/or face to face conversations)
- Assist in compiling weekly, monthly and annual attendance and discipline data and statistics
- Assist classroom teachers and building staff in identifying and utilizing behavior interventions developed from research and best practices
