Job Title: Dean of Instruction

Location: Aurum Preparatory Academy, Oakland, CA

Position Type: Full-Time

Reports To: School Principal & Executive Director

Position Overview:

Aurum Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced educator to fill the role of Dean of Instruction. The Dean of Instruction will play a crucial role in shaping the school's academic program, ensuring high-quality instruction, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of Instructional strategies, curriculum development, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Implementation:

• Collaborate with teachers to design and implement a rigorous, standards-based curriculum.
• Provide guidance and support in the development of Instructional materials and assessments aligned with state standards.

Professional Development:

• Facilitate professional development sessions for teachers to enhance their instructional practices.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Data Analysis and Assessment:

• Utilize data to assess student performance and instructional effectiveness.
• Implement data-driven strategies to improve student achievement outcomes.

Instructional Leadership:

• Observe classroom instruction and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
• Collaborate with faculty to establish a positive and effective learning environment.

Parent and Community Engagement:

• Foster positive relationships with parents and community members, promoting a collaborative educational environment.
• Organize and attend events that engage parents in their child's education.

Administrative Duties:

• Oversee scheduling, student assessments, and other administrative tasks related to instructional activities.
• Collaborate with school leadership on strategic planning and vision development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of improving student outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and assessment strategies.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Experience in data analysis and utilizing data to inform instructional decisions.
• Familiarity with charter school environments and educational reforms.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
• Commitment to educational equity and a belief that all students can succeed.

Salary Range: The annual salary for the Curriculum Coordinator position at Aurum Preparatory Academy is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
