Package and Delivery Operations Manager Job Description

We are looking to hire an Operations Manager to supervise all outbound logistics related to the receipt, dispatching and delivery of packages to our customers. The Operations Manager will oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and all administrative functions. To ensure success, you need to have the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment and perform your duties in a manner that maximized profits and simplify work processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of delivery routes and delivery drivers
• Streamline logistics within each individual operation and/or route
• Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of your target area
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures
• Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals
• Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; resolve problems; address staffing needs
• Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning
• Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts
• Manage a fleet of 10+ vehicles and ensures that all necessary actions are taken to ensure the fleet is running efficiently on time, and within budget.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers warehouse staff
• Ensures Route DPD complies with all relevant regulations and specifications and that all
  paperwork and documentation is accurately completed and readily available to satisfyany and all audit requests.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree or 1+ warehouse/fulfillment experience
• This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment
• Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including
  overnight, weekends and holidays
• 2+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
