Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping for toddlers and school-age children.
- Assist in cooking and preparing various food items.
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen according to DCF licensing and the Food Program for daycare facilities.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Prep Cook or similar role.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
- Very good physical condition and endurance.
Qualifications
- Ability to cook for 60 to 100 people.
- Ability to take food allergies into consideration when preparing ingredients.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
