The Day Habilitation Instructor develops, implements and maintains instructional systems within the program sites and community sites. The Day Habilitation Instructor is responsible for ongoing formal and informal assessment of individual abilities and needs, and the development of ISP valued outcomes of the individuals Day Habilitation plan and instructional interventions to address learning needs. The Day Habilitation Instructor leads the Day Habilitation team, facilitating meetings and linking related service initiatives to program. The Day Habilitation Instructor provides direct supervision and guidance to all Day Habilitation Specialists.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.12 hourly; based on experience and RBT certification
There are Day Hab facilities located throughout Ulster and Dutchess counties
Responsibilities:
- Acts as program point person for individual specific behavior support plans, providing modeling, guidance and feedback to Day Habilitation Specialists and Related Service Staff.
- Interfaces with Primary Behavior Specialist to design, implement and assess individual and program wide reinforcement systems
- Ensures behavioral data is completed as requested and forwarded to appropriate clinical personnel.
- Utilizes behavioral teaching interventions and models such for Day Habilitation Specialist.
- Ensures Day Habilitation Specialists are implementing instructional correctly.
- Monitors Day Habilitation Specialists work performance and communicates information regularly with the Day Habilitation Supervisor and or Coordinator of Day Services.
- Conducts supervisory sessions to address work performance issues and maintains written progressive discipline paperwork.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in human services with sufficient knowledge and experience to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities of the position.
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Must have a clean NYS drivers license
- Must maintain qualifications in the crisis intervention procedure of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of the crisis intervention of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility, by both primary and secondary paths in the event of fire or other emergency.
- Must obtain and maintain Medication Certification status.
- Must obtain and maintain Agency Driver status.
