Description:
We are looking for a friendly, motivated candidate with excellent communication skills. With patio season coming we are in need of multiple day servers. You're hours would be 10:30am-4:30pm (At the latest) They should be able to interact with customers and make them feel like they are the only ones in the entire restaurant. They will need to memorize menu’s including specials and available specialty sushi/kitchen offerings. The ideal candidate will be able to function during “the rush” by keeping themselves calm and collected and not take our their frustrations on coworkers or guests. We try and work as a family and follow the "one team, one fight" saying. Meaning we all try and help each other succeed and work together to help with flow and turnover rate.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a professional and knowledgeable customer experience.
- Understanding menu items as well as making suggestions based on customers preference.
- Ensuring any allergies, restrictions or substitutions that are requested are clearly relayed from customer to kitchens
- Delivering food and drink menu items, as well as collecting payment in a timely manner
- Upselling drinks, sushi, and other specials when appropriate.
- Cooperating and communicating with all host, servers, sushi chefs, kitchen chefs and all other staff with an "all hands on deck" approach.
- Staying up to date with specials, hours of operation as well as take-out and ordering procedures.
- Pre-bussing tables, keeping tables clean and tidy at all times, rolling silverware and restocking items
Skills:
- Walk and stand for prolonged amounts of time.
- Carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
- Have enough mobility to function in a restaurant setting (bend, lean, squat, wipe and stoop)
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment without becoming overwhelmed or frustrated.
- Able to work with coworkers and function as a team.
- Effectively communicate on the telephone
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
