Job Duties and Responsibilities:DISH IT Digital Solutions is currently in search of a Database Engineer to join our Data Architecture team. As a vital member of this team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of diverse data solutions, playing a key role in supporting our core business and advancing the modernization of DISH IT's transactional data persistence systems.

- Design and implement robust and scalable data update applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure optimal performance of data update processes
- Work on both on-premises and Cloud-based databases to address diverse business needs
- Take ownership of delivering timely and accurate data updates for existing business processes
- Continuously optimize data update workflows for efficiency and reliability
- Implement automation solutions to streamline and enhance the data update processes
- Act as a key point of contact for any issues related to data persistence systems in Production
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address and resolve incidents promptly
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures
- Work closely with the Data Architecture team to understand overall data strategy and contribute to the evolution of data solutions
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of data persistence systems to meet business objectives
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in database technologies
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or approaches that can improve data engineering processes
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data update applications and processes
- Share knowledge within the team and contribute to the overall knowledge base
- Ensure that data update processes adhere to security and compliance standards
- Implement measures to protect sensitive data and ensure data integrity
- Monitor the performance of data persistence systems and proactively identify areas for improvement
- Conduct performance tuning activities to optimize database performance
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions
- Communicate updates and improvements to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn new skills
- Hands-on SQL development in a relational or NoSQL database
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in Python
- SQL/PLSQL development experiences in Oracle
- Exposure to MongoDB
- Familiar with Linux
- Experiences in supporting scalable enterprise applications
