Salary Range: $89,500 - $136,400
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing advanced cost accounting analyses, comparing estimated costs to actual costs, preparing various budget reports and lead cost reduction initiatives to achieve Manufacturing targets using accounting and data management systems (ERP).
JOB DUTIES:
• Gather and compile cost information and maintain database to track expenses.
• Product Cost Analysis - Visualize Total Cost per Job vs. Target, analyzing both Controllable & Uncontrollable Cost impact
• Develops systems and procedures for accumulation systems and/or cost accounting functions.
• Determines fixed costs such as salaries, rent, and insurance.
• Predicts, plans, and records variable costs including raw material purchases, labor, and operational costs.
• Reviews, analyzes and reports actual profit margins.
• Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance.
• Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual profit margins.

• Prepare monthly manufacturing absorption reports to help the leadership team make data driven / sound business decisions
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Co-Lead Physical Inventory: Coordinate event preparation, print tags/cards, generate material/part number reports, perform analysis (variance reports), and execute inventory adjustments
• Works with Engineering to estimate product costs for existing and new products
• Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
• Maintain part costs in ERP system
• Calculate Labor and Overhead Rates
• Epicor Maintenance: add and update part records; update part settings
• Prepare Epicor part update files for mass loading
• Review Job vs. Order line Cost Variance Dashboard
• Perform weekly Cost Rolls and Cost Rolls as requested
• Review Usage and update MOH’s as needed
• Reconcile Tandem-Epicor Sales Order discrepancies
• Oversees Data Management assistant
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• At least 5 years’ experience in cost accounting within manufacturing required, including time study experience.
SKILLS REQUIRED
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytic and presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Proficient in MRP/ERP systems, such as, Epicor/SAP
• Thorough understanding of accounting procedures.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/DEMANDS
Work Environment
• Primarily works in an office environment with controlled climate.
• Ability to perform light hand activity work at a computer/telephone station in an office environment. Position is primarily sedentary.
• Some duties may involve being in a plant environment where noise levels can be moderate to high and be subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
• Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE.
• While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous communication program.
