Job Description
Robert Half Technology is searching for a skilled Database Administrator for a government client headquartered in Oak Ridge, TN. This role is a 3-6-month contract to hire, 40 hours per week, on-site at our client’s location.
This position performs a variety of technical work for our client’s Department including, but not limited to configuring, installing, and maintaining databases. This position is responsible for various technical work for the Department including, but not limited to providing support to the end users by troubleshooting and correcting hardware, software, and network connectivity problems; installing PCs and peripherals; and configuring other electronic devices.
• Performs database design and maintenance. Writes program code for database scripts and systems
interfaces for our client’s workflow needs and business operations.
• Performs database administration including configuration, report writing, backups, and optimization.
• Designs and creates user-specified reports and custom screens with related tables, views, and stored
procedures.
• Manages Help Desk and uses independent judgment to prioritize responses based on established
protocols.
• Troubleshoots problems of end users with applications, procedures, software, and hardware. Implements and maintains manufacturer updates and revisions to operating systems, software, application packages, and utilities; installs these updates in such a way as to minimize inconvenience to users.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots problems of computer users with applications, procedures, software, and
hardware city-wide.
• Hands on experience with SQL database administration.
• Experience with various Windows operating systems.
• 2 – 3 years general IT experience.
• A.S. degree in Computer Information Technology preferred.
