Job Description:

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Information & Technology Services (ITS) Department is seeking a contract resource for the role of Database Administrator. This position will provide ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the KCOJ databases. Successful candidate will ensure each database engine, instance, object complies with and remains within engineered specifications on all operational parameters; continuously review existing systems for suggestions to the Enterprise Database Architect; and document systems for use in root cause analysis, and systems deprecation. The candidate may also manage databases as code using third party tools. The Database Administrator works closely with Technology, Infrastructure, Architects, and Application Development staff.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS CLASSIFICATION:

· System Administration of databases on Clustered MS SQL Server 2016 HADR systems.

· Execute policy, procedure, operational guidelines as documented.

· Provide assistance to meet timelines and milestones related to area of operation.

· Monitor, notification, remediation of database anomalies and deviations from operational standards.

· Assist and advise DBA group as required.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Required for MS SQL Server 2008 and above in a VMWare environment.

· 3+ years Optimize, Configure, administer database systems with HA/DR options including SQL Cluster, Always ON, Replication.

· 3+ years systems administration for MS SQL Server 2008 and above.

· 5+ years troubleshooting and performance tuning MS SQL Server databases.

· Experience with Production/Enterprise Application support experience.

· Experience with managing backups, recovery, SQL jobs and installation.

· Experience with SQL Server and database performance analysis and tuning skills.

· Beneficial for MS SQL Server 2008 and above in a VMWare environment.

· Experience with T-SQL skills and understanding of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.

· Experience with relational data modeling, creation of tables, views, triggers, and indexes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or related field.

· Education Substitute: 8+ yrs. job experience or Associates decree in Computer Science/Information Technology (related field) with 5+ yrs. job-related experience.

· Experience: 5+ years of job-related experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (LICENSES, REGULATIONS, CERTIFICATES, ADVANCED EDUCATION ETC.)

· Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Certificate: SQL Server 2012/2014/2016

· 2+ year experience with Agile methodologies and continuous delivery SDLC.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND UNIQUE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Travel throughout the state is expected.

· Effective communication skills - written and oral.

· Use of Microsoft Office Suite (365).

· Standard workday 08:00 – 17:00 M-F

· Available during off hours and on weekends.

· Must be available to be on-call 24/7.
