ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyzes and organizes collected data, statistics and expenditures, and identifies patterns and trends
Creates or modifies computer applications programs and report formatsUNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Discusses computer programs, data summarization and report form output requirements, and recommends changes to improve format, use, efficiency and utilization of reports
Coordinates computer data storage, network and programming activities with computer professionals
Analyzes and organizes collected data, statistics, department operational data, budgets, expenditures, revenue or grant information in computerized databases and identifies patterns and significant trends in data
Creates applications programs or modifies pre-existing programs to generate mathematical calculations, ad hoc reports or requests for specific information from computerized databases
Reviews purpose and content of reports to improve format and use
Prepares statistical reports and cost analysis on projects, grants, department programs or operations, or research findings
Generates and distributes computer reports and system status reports on department activity and operations for management purposes
Searches computer records and files to display or report information or to respond to inquiries for information
Installs the operating system, data base, spreadsheet, word processing, graphics, utility, upgrades and other types of software into a computer
Communicates with and assists employees and other departments concerning computer operations, data base information, software and hardware capabilities, and to resolve problems
Notifies Metro computer professionals to obtain assistance in correcting system errors or notifies vendors to request service or repair
Researches computer manuals, periodicals and technical reports to develop computer programs and information systems to meet current and future user requirements, and conducts special projects

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must not have been convicted of a felony
Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis
Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test
Must be on 24 hour call
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice or with youth in the care, custody or supervision of Youth Development
must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 CFR 115.17 and 115.317, to include periodic post-employment criminal background checks
