Our company is looking for a METOC (Meterology, Oceanography, etc.) Data Scientistwith Top Secret (TS) clearance to join our team in Monterey, CA. This position will be supporting a government customer, hence only US Citizens may be considered.
The successful hire will be part of a team that provides Software Engineering and systems support of existing and emerging client objectives.

Duties
- Defines common understanding of terms and definitions about both structured and unstructured data, including taxonomies, XML, ontologies, vocabularies, product catalogs, etc.
- Assists with establishment of standards and processes for ensuring common metadata standards across METOC
- Harmonizes metadata standards with other client namespaces
- Provides subject matter expertise assisting command data stewards to map, inventory and control data lifecycle from creation or reception to retirement
- Provides recommendations on process improvements in accordance with the Data Maturity Model
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience with data management or configuration management in the field of software development or communications engineering
- Familiarity with current and emerging technologies
- Experience managing large data sets
- Experience applying the Data Maturity Model data sets or complex data pipelines
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering or a Mathematics-intensive discipline
- Current Top Secret (TS) clearance, current SCI a plus
- Current Security+ or equivalent
