Country: United States Cities: Chicago Area of expertise: Analytics Job Description Data Scientist Come join us: Avanade Inc. seeks a Data Scientist in Chicago, IL to build solutions using the Azure data science and machine learning stack focusing on AI & IoT use cases. What you'll do: You will perform the following duties: facilitate pre-sales and machine learning skills for Avanade regions; help clients understand and extract value from their data using analytical tools and techniques; build analytics solutions and ensure long-term technical viability of new deployments; apply advanced statistical, data mining, and machine-learning techniques; apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, time series modeling, programming, data modeling, simulation, deep learning, Natural Language Processing and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and enable better business decision making; use big data analytics to extract value from large data sets using Databricks and Apache Spark; design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms; communicate data-driven insights and deliver action plans to steer business strategy and decision-making for business segments; provide guidance on data visualization techniques and opportunities; and work with deal teams to provide subject matter expertise and solutioning support for client proposals and RFPs.
Skills and experiences: A qualified applicant's academic or work experience must include: experience using Data & AI tools and technologies such as, Apache Spark, Python, Azure ML, Power BI, and SQL; experience using Python, R, Spark, PySpark, PowerPivot, Power BI, Excel (including pivot tables and macros); experience developing and delivering of Data & AI solutions using Azure; experience communicating data-driven insights and delivering business strategy implementation plans; experience with Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning to build chatbots, Text Summarization and Topic Modeling, or Machine Learning; and experience as a development lead or delivery lead understanding the deliverables and managing the team's productivity and project timeline along with managing client stakeholder conversations and establishing trusted advisor relationships. About you: Must live w/in reasonable commuting distance of Chicago, IL Periodic travel to client sites is expected. The position requires at least a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
In addition, the position requires at least three (3) years of experience as a Data Scientist, or in a similar data science role.
