Blackline is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Data Scientist to join our team and play a pivotal role in building and enhancing our predictive analytics capabilities. This position will focus on marketing, sales and customer analytics, including the development of prediction and forecast models related to pipeline creation, sales performance, and customer retention. With a core emphasis on a collaborative and learning-oriented environment, this role will contribute to the ongoing success of BlackLine by extracting actionable insights from data.
ResponsibilitiesData Management: Utilize Google BigQuery to transform data from various sources Develop, inspect, mine, and model data to enhance productivity, improve decision-making, and gain a competitive advantage Assist in developing and promoting a "one source of truth" for data consistency and accuracy
Predictive modeling: Collbaborate with Go-To-Market teams to design and build machine learning and statistical models, enhancing pipeline creation, lead conversion, customer retention, and cross-sell effectiveness Work closely with the finance team to develop accurate pipeline, revenue and retention forecast models
Communication: Build strong relationships and partner with business leaders to understand their analytical needs and assess high-impact opportunities for the business Use data to inform key business decisions and communicate findings effectively with senior leadership
Training/Enablement: Collaborate and build credibility with internal business teams, staying up to date on new initiatives and understanding their data needs while managing expectations and providing guidance on best practices Stay current with technical and industry advances
QualificationsYears of Experience in Related Field: 3-7 Education: Bachelors or similar degree Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline) 3+ years of experience in data science with multiple models deployed in an operational setting Expert level knowledge in SQL and python programming Experience with data visuzlation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) Proven ability to communicate findings and insights effectively to support business decision-making
